Welcome to Epic Foundation

The main objective of the Epic Foundation is:

  • To develop, manage and sustain various projects and initiatives that assists survivors. These include our three main projects namely, Comfort Pack Project, Step-Up Project, and our Fairy Godmother Project. Our other services and initiatives include – counselling and support groups, referrals for legal advice and court preparations, self-defence classes, education and awareness campaigns and motivational talks.
  • Support various crisis centres, shelters, hospitals, and police stations.
  • Our focus is predominantly in the Gauteng area, with assistance rendered nationally to all the Netcare hospitals. We also link in with various organisations and crisis centres in the other regions of South Africa.

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign is crucial for several reasons:
  1. Raising Awareness: It highlights the pervasive issue of gender-based violence (GBV) and brings it to the forefront of public consciousness. This awareness is essential for driving societal change and reducing stigma around discussing and addressing GBV.
  2. Advocacy and Action: The campaign encourages individuals, communities, and governments to take concrete actions to prevent and respond to GBV. This includes policy changes, increased funding for support services, and community-based initiatives.
  3. Support for Survivors: By amplifying the voices of survivors and providing platforms for their stories, the campaign fosters a supportive environment where survivors can seek help and feel validated.
  4. Global Solidarity: Running from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day), the campaign connects various global movements and initiatives, creating a unified front against GBV.
  5. Education and Prevention: It educates the public about the different forms of GBV, including intimate partner violence, child marriage, and digital violence, and promotes preventive measures.

We're proud to introduce the #HollerSafeSpace. The Epic Foundation worked in collaboration with Mall of the South to put this platform in place.
The #HollerSafeSpace provides a safe environment to seek guidance on what to do, where to go, and how to get treatment if you're a victim of abuse.
It also serves as a platform for those in the victim's social circle or outsiders to access the resources that can assist them in leaving safely.
This is an extensive online resource for GBV sufferers and anybody wishing to find out more or provide assistance.
Visit hollersafespace.com to access the complete list of resources.
